1-Reproductive twins:
Monozygotic and dizygotic twins. MZ are identical twins that share one placenta. They are of the same sex. The twins either to be male or femsle according to the X or Y chromosomes.
DZ twins are non identical . They share separate placenta . May be heterogenous or homologous..
2-Non reproductive Twins:
They could be produced in vitro. For example. the 8 cells embryo, where each cell out of the 8 embryonic cells, could be transfer to.separate synthetic ZP. Each embryonic cell, gives separate typical or identical embryo (8 embryos) by embryo splitting technique. Each cell could be transfer to synthetic zona pelucida to produce 8 identical embryos or twins (reproductive cloning).
